Chipping Norton Family Health Support
The Health Visitors are all qualified nurses or midwives who have completed specialist training in Community/Public Health. We currently work within the Healthy Child Programme (HCP) supporting children and their families.
The Community Nursery Nurse supports the Health Visiting Team to deliver core services, supporting families with children between the ages of 0-5 years and delivers individual packages of care when needed, for example helping with breastfeeding, sleep problems and behavioural issues.
The Admin Support Worker deals with the day-to-day running of the Health Visiting office and will often be your first point of call when telephoning the team.
We work closely in partnership with the General Practitioners to offer advice and support to families about many issues including emotional and physical development of children, post-natal depression, parenting skills, sleep, diet, bereavement, breastfeeding, weaning, teenage pregnancies, ethnic minority groups, domestic abuse and child protection.
The team also works closely with other professionals including staff at The ACE Centre, the Children’s Community Dietician, Children’s Physiotherapist, Children’s Speech and Language Therapist, Midwives, Community Paediatrician, and the Children’s Community Paediatric Nurse. We also have strong links with the School Health Nurse team, who work with school age children.
The Health Visitors work out of The ACE Centre and you can find out more about the services they offer by visiting https://www.oxfordhealth.nhs.uk/hv/.
